People visiting the Food Expo on August 16 will be able to learn about low-salt and low-sugar cooking by watching demonstrations by renowned Japanese and local chefs.
The demonstrations are jointly organised by the Food & Health Bureau, the Centre for Food Safety, the Committee on Reduction of Salt & Sugar in Food and the Trade Development Council.
These demonstrations will encourage the public to cultivate healthy eating habits.
Renowned Japanese chef Takashi Tamura will perform a healthy Japanese cooking demonstration, while local star chefs Ming Leung, Jacky Chung and Lai Wai-hung will showcase their cooking skills at the expo to promote healthy culinary diets.
The Government launched a scheme early this year to encourage restaurants to offer tailor-made dishes with less salt and sugar.
So far, more than 300 restaurants have participated in the scheme.
