The volume of Hong Kong’s total goods exports dropped 10.1% year-on-year in June, the Census & Statistics Department announced today.
The volume of goods imports fell 8.8% compared to the same period last year.
The prices of goods exports rose 1.5% while that of goods imports increased 1.7%.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of goods exports decreased 0.5% in the second quarter of 2019 compared with the preceding quarter, while the volume of goods imports decreased 1%.
Comparing the first half of 2019 with the same period in 2018, the volume of goods exports fell 5.2%, while that of goods imports dropped 6.2%.
Both goods exports and imports prices increased 2% during the same period.
