The MTR Corporation is planning to suspend services at Yuen Long Station at 2pm on Monday, ahead of a planned sit-in there to mark three months since the July 21 attack by a mob of white-shirted men on protesters, passengers and passersby.

The railway company says after conducting risk assessments, and reviewing the progress of work to repair facilities damaged by vandals, all trains, light rails and MTR buses will again stop operating at 10pm.

In a statement, a spokesman condemned “rioters” who vandalised and set fire to a number facilities on Sunday.

It also said objects were thrown on the tracks between Mong Kok East and Hung Hom, threatening safety.
